The Panthers hosted Golden West College Saturday for the 2016 home opener, defeating the Rustlers 24-16. Chaffey took the lead in the first quarter and held on through the game to earn their first win for the season. Newcomer Quarterback Cameron Coleman threw for 157 yards and 1 touchdown. Jamal Scott led the rushing charge followed closely by Tyrone Gasaway. Justin King and Jacob Whitmer added the other two TDs for the Chaffey squad. Erick Ware had a final 42-yard field goal with 6 minutes remaining to clinch the game for the Panthers. The men are on the road this Saturday, traveling to San Diego to play the Grossmont Griffins.
