PANTHERS TAKE DOWN LA PIERCE IN HOME OPENER
It was a Panther game all night as Chaffey opened the home season under the lights at Grigsby in big fashion - a 43-7 bulldozing of the LA Pierce Brahmas. The men are now 2-0 on the 2023 season.
Head Coach Darrin Chiaverini: "I'm very proud of the way the team competed tonight! We continue to create big plays on offense and defense continues to play at a high level. Our team is just getting better and better and that showed tonight!"
From the first touchdown, a short two-yard run in by Jayson Cortes to the final points, a 25-yard fieldgoal by Anthony Hagan - the Panthers never let up.
Scoreless through the first period, Q2 brought 26 Chaffey points driven by the quarterback duo or Dereun Dortch and Ian Eveleth. Eveleth went on to score two running touchdowns in the 2nd half. Hagan was 4:5 on PATs in addition to the final field goal accounting for seven points on the board.
The team takes the show on the road, playing their next two games at Santa Monica and LA Southwest before returning home on the 30th to take on Pasadena in our annual tailgate game. The PCC game will also mark the midpoint of the season with conference competition starting October 14th at home vs West LA.
