#20 Football falls to El Camino in a high scoring affair, 52-41
The Raider Football opened their 2024 National Northern Conference campaign hosting El Camino at Griffin Stadium. The Raiders came into the game 2-1, dropping their first game to Mt San Jacinto. The Warriors came in 1-2 having just lost to defending State Champion Riverside, 70-45.
The Raiders took the opening kick-off and drove the ball 75 yards with the key play being a 50 yard Kadyn Parr to DJ James down to the Warrior 25. On the next play, Parr evaded the rush and was stopped short of the goal line. Ryan Yenokian scored from one yard out. PAT good, 7-0 Raiders. Side notes: Prayers for a speeding recovery to Will Struyk who was injured in an accident on his way out to the game.
El Camino to the ensuing kick-off and marched down the field in :34 seconds to score. 7-7 with 13:13 left in quarter one. The Warriors added a field goal before the Raiders scored when Parr found James again for a 23 yard TD pass, 14-10 Raiders. El Camino would go on to score two more times before the end of the 1st quarter to make it 24-14.
The shoot out continued in the 2nd quarter. The Warriors would 14 more to their total. With 3:37 to go in the 2nd, Parr found Corbin Hale in the flat and Hale eluded a couple of tacklers and rumbled for a 57 yard TD pass, Parr's 2nd. The two point conversion failed. 38-20 ELCO at the half.
In the second half Parr would add to his total offense, using his feet to score two more times on a 17 & 18 yard runs. To close out the Raiders scoring, Parr found Conley Moskot on the left side for a 19 yard TD pass.
Kadyn Parr finished the night 30-53 passing with 372 yards, 3TDs & ran for 89 yards, 2 TDs. Corbin Hale caught 8 passes for 133 yards and a TD. DJ James had 5 catches for 91 yards. Quincy Holland ran for 46 yards on 7 touches. LB Jason Hawes had 12 tackles,
