In a commanding performance, Mt. SAC extended their unbeaten streak to 6-0 with a decisive victory over Cerritos College on Saturday, October 19. The Mounties showcased their offensive power and defensive strength, dominating the game from start to finish.

Mt. SAC set the tone early with a strong opening drive, highlighted by a 25-yard touchdown run from Devin Miles. Shortly after, Julien Lopez recovered a fumble in the end zone, putting the Mounties up 14-0. Jack Benson then connected with Miles on a stunning 74-yard touchdown pass, concluding the quarter with Mt. SAC leading 21-0.

Cerritos managed to get on the board in the second quarter with a 2-yard rushing touchdown by Cheo Medina, closing the gap to 21-7. However, Mt. SAC quickly responded with a 1-yard touchdown run from Jack Benson and a 21-yard touchdown pass to De'shon Thompson, bringing the score to 35-7 by the half.

The Mounties continued their offensive onslaught in the third quarter, with Devin Miles scoring again on a 35-yard run. Antonio Mayes then added to the lead with a 50-yard interception return for a touchdown, pushing the score to 49-7. Cerritos found the end zone with a 10-yard pass from Dylan Eldredge, but Mt. SAC held a strong 49-14 lead heading into the final quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Mt. SAC continued to dominate with a 21-yard touchdown pass from Noah Fuailetolo to Joseph Najarro. Juan Salas then capped off the scoring with an impressive 69-yard interception return, sealing the game with a final score of 61-14.

Standout performers included Devin Miles, who recorded 13 carries for 104 yards, two rushing touchdowns, and two catches for 109 yards with one touchdown reception. Jack Benson went 11 for 15 passing, recording 267 yards while adding two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. Defensively, Mathias Malaki-Donaldson had three tackles and two sacks, while Darrell Tripline tallied eight total tackles. Juan Salas also made his mark with five tackles, one pass breakup, and a pick-six.

In terms of game statistics, Mt. SAC outperformed Cerritos in several key areas, finishing with a total offense of 538 yards compared to Cerritos' 246 yards. On the ground, the Mounties rushed for 223 yards, while Cerritos managed only 57 rushing yards. In the passing game, Mt. SAC totaled 315 yards, while Cerritos recorded 189 yards.

The No. 1 ranked Mounties will face East Los Angeles (1-5) at home on Thursday, October 24, at 6:00 PM. Tickets are available for purchase on our website or at the box office before the game.
