No. 22-ranked Citrus College picked up its first National-Central League victory of the year with a dominating 42-7 win over San Bernardino Valley College.

The Owls improve to 4-2 on the year and 1-2 in conference, while the Wolverines drop to 1-5 overall and remain winless in conference at 0-3.

Citrus finished with 450 total offensive yards, including 223 yards passing and 227 yards rushing.

Koy Riggin went 13-for-20 for the Owls, while Jack Benson was 11-for-16 with one touchdown (Julian Walker). Kannon Katzer had 10 carries, averaging 11.7 yards per carry, and scored three touchdowns. Tayvonne Miller scored two touchdowns and averaged 7.2 yards per carry on 13 carries.

Defensively, Chandler Carthan and Alexander Lopez led the Owls with six tackles each, including a six-yard sack for Lopez. Logan Juggert had five tackles, including one sack and two tackles for loss. Cody Stordahl and Jamarius Isaac had interceptions for Citrus, which also saw forced fumbles from Anthony Sanchez and Devin Amphone.

Citrus scored first, but SBVC answered back in the first quarter to tie the game. It was the only time the Wolverines would score as the Owls scored five unanswered touchdowns to put the game away. Kosuke Kayahara was a perfect 6-for-6 on point-after-touchdown attempts.

The Owls look to carry momentum as they hit the road next weekend, taking on No. 15-ranked Cerritos College at 6 p.m.
