Compton, Calif. – Friday night the Compton Football team proudly wore pink throughout the Tartar Football for a Cure game against LA Valley in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Freshman Mathew Wells served at the starting quarterback for the Tartars (0-7), yet the team still fell to LA Valley (3-5) 31-18.
Wells Collected 76 rushing yards throughout the night. Freshman Arsiah McCorker collected 5 passes, the average pass being 23 yards.
On defense sophomores Craige Slaughter and Aaron Hayward and freshmen Abeje Bates and Brimm Thompson led the team in tackles with five tackles each.
The next home game will be on November 9 against the West LA Wildcats with a start time of 6 p.m. This game will also be Sophomore Night in honor of the football athletes who have participated in two seasons of play.
