MARAUDER FOOTBALL GETS LATE START, LOSES HOME OPENER

Marauder Football figured after their 34-0 complete game opener at Mt. San Jacinto, that they could give anyone a good fight.
Problem was, the team that won in San Jacinto last week didn't arrive to Brent Carder Marauder Stadium until late in the third quarter, and by then it was much to late against a very good Victor Valley team which showed up from the opening kickoff.
Actually, it was too late after the first 15 minutes. The Rams had pushed out to a 24-0 lead (they made it 31-0 eight seconds into the second) and had gained 231 yards in a quarter against a Marauder defense that had given up only 60 the week before in the entire game.
By the time AVC found any offense, the score was 41-0, but from 6:12 left in the third, AVC put together nearly 300 yards to finish out the game, scoring four times, three times by Blake Shepherd passes. Shepherd was 19 for 51 passing for 313 yards. He found Donte Ross seven times for 132 yards and a touchdown and Alex Byers six times for 121 and a TD. That didn't include the 80 yard Shepherd to Byers play that was called back by a holding call that would have cut the lead to 14-7.
