Citrus Keeps OCC Winless

No. 14-ranked Citrus College got back on track with a 38-22 victory over Orange Coast College Saturday night.

The Owls improve to 6-3 overall and 3-3 in the National-Central League, while the Pirates fall to 0-9 on the year and 0-6 in conference.

Citrus finished with 320 total offense yards, including 200 passing yards and 120 yards rushing.

Koy Riggin went 18-for-24 with three touchdown passes and one interception. Tayvonne Miller had 20 carries for 87 yards and scored one touchdown, while Kannon Katzer had 19 carries for 52 yards and one touchdown. Three different receivers had touchdowns: Jesse Carmona (four catches, 52 yards), Julian Borrayo (one catch, 36 yards), and Julian Walker (four catches, 33 yards).

Kosuke Kayahara was perfect for the Owls, making his one field goal attempt and knocking five extra-point kicks.

Defensively, Chandler Carthan had six punts, with five of them landing in OCC's 20, and averaged 40.5 yards per punt. He also had 15 tackles, including 10 solo efforts – the most in a single season since 2021. Hunter Corbin and Dominic Garcia each added seven tackles, with Corbin grabbing a sack for nine yards and Garcia also grabbing an interception for seven yards.

Citrus closes out the regular season at home on Nov. 11, hosting Long Beach at 1 p.m.
