CHAFFEY BLANKS LA VALLEY FOR 17TH CONSECUTIVE WIN
The Panthers expanded their winning streak Saturday night shutting out LA Valley to remain undefeated on the season. This was Chaffey's 17th consecutive win, the longest current streak in the state.
Sophomore receiver Tyler Sweet put the Panthers on the board Saturday just two minutes into play catching a 63-yard pass from Caleb Arreola. It was Arreola's longest pass of the night and the only scoring drive of the first quarter. By the time the teams headed into the locker rooms for the break, the Panthers were up 38-0. Arreola continued at QB into the 3rd with Maximillian Davila taking over with 44 points on the board for Chaffey. The Panthers finished it off at 73-0.
Tyler Sweet (week 7 SCFA Player of the Week) amassed 149 yards on the night which takes his season total to 733 and firmly places him in the Chaffey record book. With three games remaining this season, Sweet could displace players from as far back as 1947.
Fellow record breaker Nick Lawson added 7 points to his season total. Lawson currently leads the state in points scored (58).
The Panthers return home this week to take on Santa Ana. The Dons are 2-4 overall and coming off a loss to West LA last weekend.
