Raiders Fall to College of the Canyons in Home Finale

The Raiders played host to College of the Canyons on Sophomore Night and it was the visitors that spoiled the night upending the Raiders, 35-30.

In what seemed to be the Raider's season M/O, they fell behind early in the 1st quarter 14-0. It wasn't until 2:20 left in the quarter the Macloud Crowton found River Stout for a 39 yard TD pass, Daniel Burke's PAT made it 14-7. After the defense made stop on COC's next series, Crowton went back to work and engineered a 13 play, 77 yard drive that end with Crowton's 3 yard plunge to tie the score, 14-14. Canyons went in to ball control run offense and scored 2 more times to take a 28-14 halftime lead.

The 3rd quarter turned into defensive battle as the Raider's passing offense sputtered and COC run offense was content to run the clock. The 4th quarter began with Raiders in the middle of a drive that started at the mid-field. The 9 play drive ended with Gabriel Landless punching it in from the 3. Burke's PAT made it 28-21 with 13:22 left in the 4th. COC ended their scoring with 2:39 left, 35-21. On the ensuing kick-off return, Tony Johnson brought the ball out to the COC 48. 3 passes later, Crowton found Noah Cronquist for 23 yard TD pass, 35-28, COC. At 1:45 left in the game, COC started to run out the clock and eventually took a safety to end the game.
